Who We Are

LWML Michigan District

Caring Ministries Committee

“For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink.
I was a stranger and you invited Me in, I needed clothes and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me,
I was in prison and you came to visit Me.” (Matthew 25:35-36 NIV)

The purpose of the Caring Ministries Committee is to encourage sensitivity in women toward those who are hurting and in need. The committee is composed of Vice President of Caring Ministries, Servant Opportunities Coordinator and Service Projects Coordinator.

Servant Opportunities Coordinator, Sheri Comeford
plans activities and servant events in which women of the District may become involved in Christ-like hands-on service to those who are hurting or in need. She challenges women to be alert to service opportunities in their church, community and the world and respond as Christ would have them do.

Service Projects Coordinator, Renita Wollberg informs women of the District about projects they can prepare in the home or church to provide comfort and basic necessities to those who are in need. She plans and coordinates the ingatherings for the District Convention, and provides information to members about ingatherings for the national LWML convention. Renita also serves as a liaison with LCMS World Relief and informs members of the needs of that organization.
